Field Service Engineer - Peterborough

The Company

Qcom based in Droitwich, UK is a leading provider of outsourced technical support and maintenance services for IT products.

The Role

We are recruiting for a number field based engineers/technicians to join our UK wide team.

Dynamic individuals with first class people and technical skills, you will provide on site maintenance and project services to our Customers.

Working on a variety of technology products you will attend breakdown and preventative service calls to provide maintenance, installs, user training and other technical services. Experience of EPOS,PCs, Printers and Kiosk equipment is beneficial but not essential.

The working environment is Retail, Transport and Logistics, Manufacturing and Print.

Excellent customer service skills and communications are essential along with a technical background, although full product training will be given.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of Handheld terminals and scanners.
  • Printer maintenance and repair
  • Supporting project based IT roll outs
  • Resolve technical faults and undertake technical modifications.
  • Real time updating of our Service Management system.
  • Apply Firmware/software upgrades
  • On Site user training

Key Skills required:

  • Excellent customer facing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a faced paced and evolving environment
  • Capability to take ownership of and complete tasks independently
  • Be professional and confident
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude
  • Fully IT literate
  • Flexible working hours
  • Full Driving license
