The contract will see Qcom delivering field maintenance and service, product and parts logistics, field assembly, installation and commissioning on Apex products throughout the UK and mainland Europe.
The appointment by Apex was completed in order to enhance its focus on core solutions for the retail, food service and logistics sectors. These include AxcessTM automated tracking, click-and-collect pick-up lockers, plus the innovative Flow-ThruTM series of double-access lockers for the takeaway and campus food delivery sector.
Apex Supply Chain Technology’s European Managing Director Julian Adams said: “As a proven service and support partner for global technology companies, Qcom was the obvious choice to help us enhance the quality and efficiency of our service and support operations in Europe.
“We are delighted to have them on the team.”
The new contract takes effect from July 2020. The outsourcing arrangements include the transfer of engineering, technical and logistics staff to Qcom.
Qcom managing director Neil Anderson said: “We are proud to be working with Apex Supply Chain Technologies and are looking forward to supporting their innovative and successful product lines.
“By outsourcing technical service and aftermarket support to Qcom, technology companies like Apex can take advantage of our specialist capabilities and economies of scale to improve service levels, reduce costs, and re-focus their in-house resources on innovation, product development and other core operations.”
