Qcom Technology Ltd has acquired the service division of Thermal Printer Support Ltd (TPS), further strengthening its specialist engineering capabilities across thermal printing and Auto ID technologies.
The acquisition brings the TPS service customer base and seven experienced engineers into Qcom. Collectively, the engineers offer decades of technical expertise across a wide range of print technologies, with particular experience supporting TSC Printronix Auto ID products.
Existing TPS service customers will benefit from continuity of service and access to Qcom’s wider technical service and aftermarket support infrastructure. This includes customer helpdesk, field engineering, workshop repair, inventory and logistics, project management and other whole-of-life technical services.
The acquisition forms part of Qcom’s continued investment in specialist technical capabilities, enabling the company to offer enhanced support to printer manufacturers, channel partners and end users throughout the UK and Ireland.

Thermal Printer Support managing director Jason Asser said: “We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Qcom, which provides continuity of support for TPS customers as well as excellent ongoing career opportunities for our long-serving engineers.
“Qcom shares our commitment to technical expertise and high-quality customer service, giving us confidence that both our customers and our people are in very good hands.”
Qcom general manager Neil Anderson said: “We are delighted to welcome TPS service customers and our seven new engineering colleagues to Qcom.
“The team brings a considerable depth of specialist knowledge and experience, particularly across thermal printing and TSC Printronix Auto ID technologies.
“Bringing that expertise together with Qcom’s existing engineering resources and support infrastructure creates exciting opportunities to offer enhanced services to both existing and new customers.
“Our immediate priority is to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of service.
“Beyond that, we look forward to developing the additional capabilities this acquisition brings and making them available to the wider printer and Auto ID market.”
